Ten years ago, Fair for You set out with a simple but radical mission — to change lives through better lending.

Over the past decade, we've transformed the landscape of ethical lending, offering a dignified alternative to high-cost credit and supporting tens of thousands of families to access essential goods, improve their financial wellbeing, and enhance their quality of life.

To celebrate we commissioned a social impact report from the Centre for Responsible Credit, a charity working to develop better support and solutions for people struggling with debt.

Here are some of the report highlights:

We’ve advanced just under £100M of loans.

We’ve generated over £¾ of a billion in social value across the UK.

And our loans provide more than just financial support, they make a measurable difference for families and communities:

  • Since taking out a loan with Fair for You nearly a third (31.7%) of our customers no longer need to use credit at all.
  • Regular saving rose by 50%+; 11,700 additional households are now saving regularly.
  • Rent and mortgage arrears have dropped by more than half.
  • Stress/anxiety fell from 41% to 24%. Over 12,000 more customers now report no depression.
  • Daily fruit consumption more than tripled.
  • Seven percent of customers – equating to around 6,100 people - would not have been able to access the internet in their homes if it had not been for Fair for You.
