This Christmas, try ‘modest gifting’ with the Iceland Food Club

November 26, 2025 • Sam Burne-James

There are lots of lovely things about Christmas.

But it’s also a time when you might feel under pressure to spend more than you can afford.

Christmas gifts are often a reason for this. Have you ever spent more money than felt comfortable, just because it felt like the right thing to do?

It’s not just Fair for You who are worried about this - almost every year, money saving expert Martin Lewis reminds us all that unnecessary gifts just cause extra stress, extra expense, and end up in landfill.

So this festive season, perhaps you’d like to try ‘modest gifting’. This means giving something little but fun, that shows somebody that you care about them without creating financial stress.

If you use our zero-interest Iceland Food Club to help with your food costs, then you’ll find lots of lovely modest gifts at Iceland.

Sweet idea

Got a friend who loves Jaffa Cakes? This festively-packaged pole includes a huge 40 Jaffas, for just £4.

Or if they’re more a fan of chocolate on its own, this jolly Kinder chocolate Santa is £2.75.

Once you pop...

Maybe your brother or sister always hogs the Pringles. Well, with Pringles All The Way! they can enjoy four individual boxes of them, packaged in a sleigh - perfect for the kids to do crafts with afterwards - also for £4.

You could even push the boat out and get the Ultimate Stack of eight for £8, but you’ll have to add your own Christmas packaging (and pun).

Spray and socks

You obviously wouldn’t want to suggest that any of your relatives are smelly, but this Lynx gift set of body spray and socks, for £4.50, could be a hit for a guy who likes to smell good.

Feline festive

Don’t forget that cats love Christmas too, honest! Treat your favourite feline with this FELIX Cat Treats Christmas Gift Box, at £3.50.

Fair for You Food Club Card

Check out all of Iceland's Christmas chocolate and gifts here. Apply for your Iceland Food Club card here.

The Fair for You Food Club Card is available to use in Iceland and can be used to help afford gifts and your food shopping at any time of the year including at Christmas.

How it works is that you can load up to £75 on the card. Repayments are set at £10 per week, and you can even choose which day of the week the repayments leave your bank account. Fair for You operates as a not-for-profit, meaning it won’t cost you any more than you borrow to use the Food Club Card.

As the full amount you choose will be pre-loaded onto the card, it is ready to use at the checkout at your local Iceland store. This means you can spend the money now, and then repay the amount after Christmas.
